"MP Biomedicals had a very detailed and thorough ERP evaluation and selection process to replace our legacy IBM I Series solution and multiple ERP systems across our different operations. Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why should we consider Acuvera Tech over another systems integrator or local reseller?

Most systems integrators are structured for enterprise engagements – large teams, long timelines, and budgets that mid-market companies cannot sustain. Local resellers move in the opposite direction: they sell software licenses efficiently but rarely bring the process depth needed to realize their value. Acuvera Tech occupies the space between them deliberately.

We combine end-to-end business process expertise – spanning Innovation to Launch, Quote to Cash, Procure to Pay, Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, and Record to Report – with a global delivery model that controls cost without sacrificing accountability. The result is enterprise-grade process design at a cost structure built for mid-market operations.

2. Which platforms do you implement, and how do you select the right one?

Our core ERP platforms are Acumatica and Epicor, complemented by specialist solutions including Revalize for CPQ, PLM, and design automation, and Lumber for workforce and payroll in construction and field-heavy environments.

Technology selection is driven by your specific situation – your industry micro-vertical, operating model, growth trajectory, and integration landscape – not by what is most expedient for us to deliver. Where a specialist solution serves a process better than a standard ERP module, we will recommend it. Our obligation is to the right fit, not the largest footprint.

3. What industries do you work in?

We operate in defined industry micro-verticals rather than claiming broad sector coverage. This focus means our consultants arrive with working knowledge of your terminology, regulatory environment, cost model, and the process patterns that typically fail at your revenue stage.

If your business falls outside our defined verticals, we will tell you during the initial discovery conversation – not after the engagement has begun.

4. We already have an ERP system. Do we need to replace it, or can you improve what we have?

Both paths can be appropriate, and we evaluate them without a preferred outcome. Many mid-market companies have adequate technology but underperforming processes. In those cases, replacement is an expensive distraction from the real problem.

Our starting point is always a structured assessment: mapping your current workflows to end-to-end value streams to locate where value is actually being lost – whether in the platform itself, its configuration, integrations, data quality, or user adoption. Replacement is a recommendation we reach through analysis, not a default we arrive at in advance.

We offer a complimentary consultation to help you evaluate your best path forward before any commitment is made.

5. How do you address the gaps where ERP alone falls short - configuration, quoting, engineering, and product launch processes?

This is where most mid-market implementations underdeliver. Standard ERP handles transactional processes reliably. It handles engineer-to-order, complex product configuration, and new product development poorly.

Our solution portfolio is built around these gaps. We integrate PLM for Innovation-to-Launch, CRM for Sales-to-Quote, and CPQ for Quote-to-Order directly with your ERP, so that quotes, configurations, bills of materials, and orders move through the system without manual re-entry. The value in these engagements comes from the handoffs between processes, not from any individual module in isolation.

6. What does a typical implementation timeline and investment look like?

Timelines vary with scope, but we structure engagements in defined phases tied to business outcomes rather than single multi-year programs. A focused Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay deployment typically completes in months, not years.

We size the first phase around your most significant process failure – the constraint costing you the most today – rather than the largest possible license footprint. Each phase is designed to deliver measurable return before the next begins, so you are not waiting years to see value from the investment.

7. What does your global delivery model mean for cost and quality?

Client-facing strategy, process design, and solution architecture are led by senior consultants with direct industry experience in your vertical. Configuration, development, integration, testing, and ongoing support are delivered through our global team.

This blended model reduces your total cost of ownership materially while keeping accountability and process expertise close to your business. You work with one accountable delivery lead throughout – not a handoff to an undifferentiated offshore queue.

8. What happens after go-live? We have been let down by implementers who disengaged after launch.

Go-live is a milestone in the program, not the conclusion of it. Our Application Managed Services practice provides ongoing support, enhancement delivery, release management, user enablement, and continuous process optimization after implementation.

Many clients find the second and third years generate more value than the initial implementation, as adoption deepens and the system is tuned to reflect how the business has evolved. Managed services is a core part of how we operate – not an afterthought appended at handoff.

9. Our data is in poor shape and our team is already stretched. Is a transformation realistic for us right now?

This is the normal starting condition for a mid-market transformation engagement, not a disqualifier. It does, however, shape how we sequence the work.

We plan around your team’s actual available capacity, not an idealized version of it. Data remediation, change management, and user enablement are scoped explicitly into the program from the outset rather than treated as assumptions. The most common cause of failed mid-market implementations is not the technology – it is underestimating the human and data effort required to make the technology work. We account for both.

10. How do we get started?

We begin with a structured discovery and process assessment: mapping your end-to-end value streams, identifying where value is lost, and quantifying the cost of your current state. The output is a prioritized roadmap with a defined first phase, clear expected outcomes, and a realistic investment range.

This assessment stands on its own as a strategic asset regardless of what you decide to do next. We offer it as a complimentary engagement so you can make a confident, informed decision about the right path forward.
